Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services, Technical Supervisor, and Shift Supervisors provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment as outlined in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.

Responsibilities

  • Providing respiratory therapy under medical direction, focusing on the education, treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation of patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies.
  • Assisting in intubation and managing ventilator setups.
  • Gathering information necessary for proper patient evaluation, including disease education and consultations with healthcare professionals.
  • Developing rapport and mutual respect with patients, caregivers, and team members.
  • Providing and documenting patient education based on identified needs in an understandable manner.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

    • Schedule

    This position encompasses three 12-hour shifts per week from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM, requiring availability on weekends and holidays as needed.

    Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license.
  • Current and valid New Jersey Registered Respiratory Therapist certificate.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
