The candidate will be involved in projects with our Power Generation Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

  • Design mechanical piping and equipment for renewable and fossil power generation facilities
  • Prepare mechanical equipment and packaged equipment specifications and data sheets, RFQs, and technical bid evaluations
  • Review mechanical equipment vendor drawings and data. Interface with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines, and detailers / designers
  • Ensure effective communications with other engineering disciplines
  • Prepare construction / installation scopes of work for mechanical systems
  • Participate in the development of PFDs and P&IDs
  • Perform piping design activities including sizing, pressure drop calculations, stress analysis, and pipe support design
  • Mentor and guide less experienced engineers
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design for industrial facilities
  • Engineer in Training Certification
  • Working knowledge of Microstation or AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of SmartPlant 3D or CADworx
  • Experience using Caesar II or AutoPipe
  • Experience using Thermoflow
  • Strong command of English with good written and oral communication skills
  • Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to company policies
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Engineering
  • Essential Professional Licensure / Certification
  • Power plant design experience
  • Renewable natural gas plant design experience

    WSP provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, retirement savings, paid leave, and other programs.

    Compensation : Expected Salary (all locations) : $73,100 - $125,400. WSP USA reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range based on factors including location and internal equity.
