Summary
TheProduction Manageris a key member of the Product Development and Production team, responsible for managing the full production lifecyclefrom development handoff through to final delivery at the Distribution Center (DC). This role oversees both domestic and import production, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality womens apparel in line with brand standards and calendar deadlines.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, solution-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. This role acts as the primary liaison between internal teams and external vendors to drive production execution and support supply chain initiatives.
Essential Functions
- Oversee the end-to-end production process to ensure timely delivery, adherence to budget, and compliance with brand quality standards.
- Manage multiple seasons and projects simultaneously, from design handoff through development, costing, commercialization, and delivery.
- Maintain and enforce the production calendar to meet target delivery dates across core collections, collaborations, and SMU (Special Make Up).
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams and external partners on all matters related to production, logistics, quality, compliance, and testing.
- Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure production timelines are met and brand standards are consistently achieved.
- Review and track all development samples, providing timely feedback to maintain design and quality intent; ensure all updates are accurately captured in internal systems.
- Partner closely with Technical Design to align on fit and sample timelines, ensuring bulk production remains on schedule.
- Ensure all sample-to-bulk changes are approved, documented, and implemented prior to production start.
- Issue and manage bulk production orders, including development and procurement of trims.
- Maintain and monitor trim inventory; forecast future needs and ensure accurate entry into tech packs and systems.
- Review and validate BOMs for all bulk styles and purchase orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Track and manage all production samples (PPS / TOP) to ensure timely receipt and alignment with production timelines.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date production status and logistics tracking.
- Support sourcing strategy by evaluating vendors based on capacity, capabilities, pricing, and quality.
- Ensure all vendor partners are compliant with testing, VAS (value-added services), and customer-specific requirements.
- Review testing reports and proactively resolve issues to meet brand quality and compliance standards.
- Support the onboarding and ongoing compliance of production vendors, ensuring alignment with company policies and expectations.
- Coordinate with the vendors logistics and shipping teams to ensure on-time delivery of finished goods.
- Monitor vendor performance through KPIs and scorecards, identifying and addressing areas for improvement.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9 : 00 a.m. to 6 : 00 p.m. This role allows hybrid work at the managers discretion. Requiring 4 days a week in the office.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Apparel Production, Supply Chain Management, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered5+ years of experience in apparel production management, with a strong background in bothimportanddomestic manufacturingDeep understanding of apparel production processes, timelines, and vendor management in the fashion marketProven experience working with global sourcing strategies, including strong knowledge ofAsia, Central America, and domestic productionlandscapesExpertise in managing pre-production processes(tech packs, fit approvals, lab dips, trims, etc.) and ensuring on-time executionStrong knowledge of production calendars, lead times, and capacity planningFamiliarity with compliance standards, including social, ethical, and quality assurance protocolsExcellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-buildingskills with vendors, mills, and factoriesProficient in PLM systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.)Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solvingabilitiesAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-pacedenvironmentDemonstrated leadership and team collaboration with cross-functional partners : Design, Product Development, Merchandising, Tech Design, Planning, and OperationsWork Authorization / Security Clearance
