We are currently seeking a motivated Automation Systems Engineer II to enhance our digital automation infrastructure within our Precision Metal Fabrication (PMF) department. In this pivotal position, you will contribute to the development and implementation of automation software and solutions that drive the operational efficiency of our factory and meet our program customers' needs.

What You Will Do :

  • Collaborate across various functional teams to address Operations Technology needs, focusing on CNC and Robotics equipment connectivity, software tools, application enhancements, and data migration.
  • Enhance and maintain custom applications developed on the Ignition platform as well as commercial applications like Predator DNC and Tool Connect, tailored for Metal Fabrication and CNC production management.
  • Extract and process data to deliver insightful visualizations and metrics related to CNC machine performance.
  • Contribute to the overall manufacturing technology strategy of the factory to ensure continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications You Must Have :

  • Typically requires a BS in Engineering or a STEM-related field, along with 2+ years of experience in software, controls, manufacturing, or automation; or an MS in Engineering or a STEM field.
  • Proficiency in software development using tools such as Ignition, SQL, Python, C#, .NET, and HTML5.
  • Ability to effectively diagnose hardware and network-related issues.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance.
  • Qualifications We Prefer :

  • Experience with machining equipment.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar DevOps platforms.
  • Proficient in version control systems like Git.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus / TCP, MQTT, Ethernet IP, RESTful APIs, SECS / GEM.
  • Understanding of automation systems, including robots, vision systems, and PLC deployment / integration.
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate collaboration with cross-functional teams.

    Salary Range : $66,000 - $130,000. This salary range reflects a good faith estimate and covers various experience levels. Various factors such as role responsibilities, experience, and location are considered in our offer process.
