Job Details :

• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM
• Weekend rotation required with every other weekend coverage
• Holiday coverage as needed
• No call responsibilities
• Patient ratio of 5-6 patients per nurse
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Must have minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• First-time travelers accepted with surgery / trauma experience preferred
• Subject to float between all Cone Health campuses if needed
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Must pass EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed)
• Specialize in care of stable trauma patients
• Provide pre-op and post-op care for surgical patient population
• Experience with rapid response teams, blood product administration, and peripheral line care required
• Care for patients following exploratory surgeries, hemi-colectomies, mastectomies, cholecystectomies, eye surgeries, trauma and plastic surgeries
• Also care for palliative care patients, 24-hour observation patients, and medical overflow patients
• Work with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy
• Use specialized equipment including lift equipment, wound vacs, and Coude catheters

This healthcare facility operates a 32-bed medical surgical telemetry unit with a daily census of 30 patients, serving adult and geriatric populations. The facility specializes in comprehensive surgical care with high-volume trauma and surgical procedures, maintaining interdisciplinary support services and modern equipment.
