Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Ultrasound Technologist Discipline : Allied Health Professional Start Date : ASAP Duration : 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Description Position : Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer) Location : Shreveport, LA Start Date : 10 / 01 / 2025 Assignment Length : 13 weeks End Date : 12 / 31 / 2025 Shift : Mid Shift | 8-hour shifts On-Call : Yes – rotating weekday, weekend, and holiday on-call duties required Join a high-volume diagnostic imaging department providing high-quality general, OB / GYN, and vascular ultrasound services. This sonographer position supports a multidisciplinary academic medical center and requires independent scanning, patient education, and collaboration with radiologists and procedural teams. Responsibilities Perform ultrasound imaging procedures based on physician orders and established protocols Operate ultrasound equipment independently and assist in image-guided procedures Verify exam accuracy and ensure diagnostic image quality prior to transmission Document studies and complete quality control logs per regulatory standards Maintain equipment, supplies, and assist with departmental workflow Provide education and support to patients before and after procedures Adapt communication style and clinical approach to each patient population Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations Perform other duties as assigned in a fast-paced clinical imaging environment Requirements Completion of a CAHEA-accredited diagnostic medical sonography program Minimum 2 years of ultrasound experience required Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) experience required ARDMS certification in Abdominal and OB / GYN or Cardiac Sonography required BLS certification (AHA) required RVT certification required within 2 years of hire Proficiency in both general and vascular sonography Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working with EMR systems and web-based tools Additional Information Must be comfortable with high-volume PACS workflow Shift includes on-call and holiday rotation shared among team Exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious material expected due to clinical setting Medium physical demand : frequent lifting, standing, walking, and assisting patients Scrub color not specified; professional attire expected Candidates must be detail-oriented, patient-focused, and collaborative About IDR Healthcare IDR Healthcare is an awarding winning staffing firm that believes it is a privilege and awesome responsibility to serve those who selflessly care for others.
