Life Insurance Underwriter

A company is looking for an Underwriter who will be responsible for underwriting individual life insurance contracts.

Key Responsibilities

Appraises, classifies, and takes action on insurance applications, including determining extra premiums for medical impairments and special hazards

Communicates with field force and Home Office personnel regarding insurance applications and answers inquiries related to underwriting policies

Required Qualifications

Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy

Knowledge of federal and state insurance regulations

BS or BA degree; completion of LOMA and ALU courses

2-5 years of individual life underwriting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
