We are looking for a Director of People and Legal who will lead Human Resource Operations and Legal functions in a growing tech organization.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will engage internal and external stakeholders across a variety of business needs, including commercial negotiations, employee lifecycle, and HR practices, IP and data protection, as well as other strategic initiatives.
What You'll be Doing :
- Designing an excellent employee experience from onboarding to growth, fostering a vibrant, inclusive culture.
- Driving strategic initiatives, optimize processes, and building a world-class team.
- Steering us through legal landscapes, ensuring compliance and protecting our organization.
- Negotiating and reviewing contracts with clients, vendors, and other partners, including SaaS and data contracts, power purchase agreements, and other commercial contracts.
- Building a robust risk management framework, safeguarding our future and turning potential threats into opportunities.
- Staying up to date with changes in relevant laws and regulations and communicate such changes to the appropriate stakeholders.
What We're Looking for :
10+ years of relevant experience, ideally with a mix of legal and people / HR Operations experienceJ.D. and admitted to at least one state barAnalytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise advice to stakeholdersExcellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectivelyExcellent communication skills, including experience negotiating commercial contractsPreferred Qualifications
Experience working in a fast-paced, start-up environmentExperience working in a regulated industry or with regulated clientsExperience negotiating SaaS contracts or renewable energy project transactionsCombined law firm and in-house experienceContract Lifecycle Management system experiencePassion for transitioning to a zero-carbon futureWe work on a hybrid model. We are in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at our downtown Boston building, and remote work is optional on Wednesdays and Fridays.
