    • Job Summary

    The Essex County Co-Operative Farming Association located in Topsfield, MA is looking to hire a full time cashier. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm, Saturday 8am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm.

    The ideal candidate must have a strong customer service background, the ability to answer customer questions both in person and on the phone and be familiar with using a point of sale system. The ideal candidate must have reliable transportation.

    The Co-Op offers a list of benefits including : paid sick, personal and vacation pay, a matching 401k program, growth opportunities and a generous employee discount for items sold by the company. We offer above industry average pay.

    Responsibilities

  • Greet each customer with a smile and actively assist while they are shopping
  • Work the register to ring up sales and complete transactions
  • Collect payments by cash and credit card
  • Issue receipts and refunds to customers
  • Participate in product promotion events and initiatives to drive sales
  • Maintain a solid knowledge of product inventory to assist customers with their selections
  • Stock shelves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, count, write, and communicate clearly and effectively
  • Understanding of sales techniques and best practices in customer service
  • Willingness to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to quickly and accurately work a register
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
