Systems Operations Manager
Manage team of Systems Administrators and Engineers responsible for maintaining, monitoring, patching, and remediating issues in the server infrastructure.
Manage relationships with third party vendors including but not exclusive to DBA and Sys Admin managed services.
Ensure strong incident response process keeping all stakeholders informed as well as maintaining status pages for the organization.
Maintain and improve monitoring practices, looking for ways to become as close to proactive as possible.
Maintain patching schedules for both OS and application related patch cycles.
Optimize existing systems for performance and reliability.
Develop and maintain SOPs for core functions.
Lead and support cross-functional technology projects such as upgrades, migrations, or implementations.
Engage in and support DevOps practices for infrastructure and security management.
Exhibit a Site Reliability Engineering mindset when engaging with or developing reliability and incident response practices.
Excellent customer service, communication, and documentation skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex technical problems.
Other duties as assigned.
Self-starter attitude with ability to troubleshoot and conduct own research on solutions.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Proven working experience systems operations.
Ability to manage customer and other technological group relationships.
High attention to detail, maintaining accuracy in all managed and implemented solutions.
Shows good judgment during high pressure situations.
Ability to step outside normal role to fix issues that may not directly be related to just technology.
Organizational and project management skills.
Bachelor's degree required.
7+ years of experience administering server system infrastructures and technology.
2+ years of experience in a senior or lead role.
Project Management certification preferred.
Professional certification may be required in some cases.
Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment.
Job requires the ability to use vision, adjust focus and work on a standard computer screen.
Use of audio-visual equipment is required.
