Description :
This position is for a Medical-Surgical / Telemetry unit.
The unit provides care for patients with complex medical needs.
Patient population includes cardiac, vascular, general medical, surgical, wound, gastrointestinal, neurological, respiratory, renal failure, and immunocompromised diagnoses.
Staff members are trained to manage chronic ventilator patients.
The nurse will be part of an interdisciplinary team that includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
The nurse will be responsible for telemetry monitoring and emergency response.
Clinical tasks include IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and care for ventilated patients.
Nurses will also perform tracheostomy care, wound care, and interpret 12-lead EKGs.
Nurses are expected to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as necessary.
Weekend and holiday shifts are required as per the unit's schedule.
A strong focus on patient safety and adherence to protocols is essential.
