Job description

Responsible for leading three of Commercial Service’s core functions – the operations of the Medical, Legal & Regulatory (MLR) process, peer-to-peer program speaker bureau program logistics, and material management (production, fulfillment, and digital asset management). This individual will work collaboratively with cross-functional collaborators and partners including Marketing, Sales, and Finance to elevate execution of Commercial Services deliverables. Leverage leadership capabilities to elevate the performance of the Commercial Services team by pursuing continual process improvements.

Primary Responsibilities

Medical, Legal, Regulatory (MLR) Review Process

  • Provide leadership and oversight to the Medical, Legal & Regulatory (MLR) process for Acadia’s two marketed brands from submission through approval.
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all MLR submissions, routing, and approvals.
  • Build out live meeting agendas, facilitate live reviews, track Reviewer feedback, and disseminate verdicts.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory Operations on OPDP submissions.
  • Provide guidance on requests for advanced and expedited MLR Reviews.
  • Level up Acadia’s MLR review process by identifying and implementing opportunities for process and system (Veeva Vault Promo Mats) improvement.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the management of Acadia’s two promotional speakers bureaus.
  • Convene cross-functional partners from Marketing, Sales, Compliance, and IT to ensure excellence, efficiency, and compliance in program implementation.
  • Partner with marketing and sales teams in development of speaker bureau programming and requirements for implementation.
  • Manage the peer-to-peer speaker portal including allocation of programming budgets and supporting timely program close-outs.
  • Oversee relationship with speaker bureau vendor; guide the development of scopes of work; manage vendor timelines, budgets, and deliverables; partner with vendor to ensure the most productive possible collaboration.
  • Strengthen field-facing training and resources to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of speaker program execution.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on critical compliance matters related to HCP aggregate spend reporting and other relevant regulations and industry standards.

Material Management

  • Provide leadership and oversight to material management from preliminary material planning through production, fulfillment, and digital asset management.
  • Manage production specification for all promotional print materials, partner with agencies and print vendors to ensure accurate and timely production and delivery.
  • Work closely with fulfillment vendor to ensure appropriate quantities in stock, manage distribution plans, and maintain field ordering portal.
  • Digital asset management of MLR-approved materials to enable field access to approved materials.
  • Monitor print usage trends and industry standard methodologies to find opportunities for efficiencies and cost savings in the production and distribution of print materials.
  • Education / Experience / Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, health care, business administration or related field. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
  • Targeting 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical / healthcare industry in a variety of progressively responsible positions including 5 years in Marketing Operations or a related function and a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Prior experience with oversight of the MLR Review Process, Peer-to-Peer Speaker Bureaus, and / or Material Management required.
  • Strong understanding of standard methodologies across the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Insightful understanding of regulatory, legal and medical requirements for pharmaceutical marketing.
  • Familiarity with Sunshine Act Aggregate Spend Reporting on both state and federal levels.
  • Knowledge in standard methodologies, business processes and commercial systems with an emphasis on cross training among team members to build increase team’s resiliency and performance stability.
  • Ability to create and implement business plans which align with the organization’s strategy.
  • Ability to manage and optimize vendor relationships to meet tight deadlines for meeting logistics.
  • Business planning and budgeting competence.
  • Excellent diplomacy and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Skills to negotiate with business partners or management and to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
  • Proficiency at creating and communicating a clear vision among team members effectively aligning resources and activities to achieve functional area and / or organizational goals.
  • Physical Requirements

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment and independently from remote locations. Employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 20 pounds.

    The salary range for this role is $175,000.00 to $218,400.00. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance.
