Medical Office Assistant
We are seeking a Medical Office Assistant to join our Cardiology and Neurology team. Working under the general supervision of the office manager and direct supervision of a licensed provider, the assistant supports both administrative and clinical functions in a team-based, integrative health environment.
Key responsibilities include :
- Prepare exam rooms by disinfecting, stocking supplies, and ensuring availability of medications and vaccinations.
- Conduct pre-visit planning by reviewing schedules and identifying gaps in care.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and manage patient flow for efficiency.
- Collect and document patient data including vital signs, allergies, medications, and chief complaints.
- Retrieve and report diagnostic results (e.g., EKG, lab tests) and recognize abnormal findings.
- Confirm and clarify provider orders before executing delegated tasks.
- Collect, prepare, and process lab specimens for testing; maintain quality control logs.
- Assist with in-office procedures such as EKGs and holter monitors; schedule referrals and specialty services.
- Obtain prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic imaging.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure smooth operations and resolve workflow obstacles.

Skills and requirements include :
Proficiency in clinical tasks such as phlebotomy and aseptic technique.Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient care and team collaboration.Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through to completion.Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR), practice management, and scheduling systems.Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or 3+ years of documented experience and successful completion of the CHS Medical Assistant Assessment.Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required.Must have a car and be willing to travel to three different sites.
