We're currently seeking a highly motivated Utility (Water-Sewer) Construction Inspector located in Baltimore, MD. Overview : CMTS LLC. is actively seeking a qualified individual to join our team who can provide utility (water-sewer) construction oversight experience on a potential long-term assignment in the northern Maryland (Baltimore influenced area), from mobilization to completion and closeout. This individual will be the owner's on-site advocate and representative, ensuring that the work follows the owner's vision and goals for budgeting, organizational continuity, communications, and administrative controls of work. Administration coordination support, if needed, will be available to the individual. Required Education : High School Diploma required Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or construction management, is preferred but not required. Required Qualifications : In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities. Minimum of 10 years of experience in utility related construction, with at least 5 years in an inspection role. Proficient in construction management software and tools. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders. Baseline of key performance attention to detail, accuracy, consistency, reliability, and timely reporting. Manage time effectively and efficiently; show capability of having organizational and planning skills and ability to achieve goals. Responsibilities : Coordinate activities of the designated prime contractor with the client to prevent interference or interruption of safe and reliable operation of existing client facilities. Be knowledgeable of personal safety issues and informing Contractor on observed unsafe conditions and / or practices. Become intensely familiar with contract documents, addenda, changes and other revisions. Contract documents to include shop drawings related to layout, material, omissions, discrepancies, conformance with actual work performed and equipment installed. Be familiar with permits, approvals and other rights of entry documents issued by federal, state, and / or regulatory agencies. Observe testing services, including backfill compaction density, concrete testing, and asphalt testing, document results and notify Engineer immediately for failed tests. Testing by an independent testing firm will be the responsibility of the Contractor. Review and approve requests for progress payments submitted by Contractor for compliance with the work performed. Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and regulatory agencies. Salary : $38.00 / hour to $42.00 / hour. Bonus Pay : A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management's discretion.
