Responsibilities
The Program Assistant for Transplant and Hepatobiliary Services serves as a liaison between Hepatologists, nurse coordinators and patients in (post-transplant) and Surgeons, Physician’s Assistant and patients in hepatobiliary clinic. The Program Assistant provides assistance to hepatobiliary and post-transplant patients through all phases of their care. Develops relationships with referring health care providers and ensures the complete and efficient management of referrals, including the acquisition of necessary patient-care materials and medical records. The Program Assistant develops relationships interdepartmentally in order to facilitate resolution of patient, departmental, or referring physicians concerns and customer service.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in liberal arts, public or business administration or a related field required. One (1) year of experience in a medical office, clinic, government agency or business setting, preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Must be proficient in computer applications as required by the department. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills, and detail oriented. Experience in customer service required. Experience with problem solving and the ability to manage difficult & / or emotional customer situations preferred. Additional related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
