Job Title : 3rd Shift Machine Operator

Schedule : 10 : 45PM - 7 : 00AM Sunday-Thursday

Location : Grand Rapids, MI

Job Description

Machine Operators are responsible for operating our scrap material recycler. This includes maintaining a clean and safe operating environment, efficiently operating machines, planning materials for production, immediately reporting any concerns / issues with safety, machines, quality, etc. to the appropriate individual, and more.

Responsibilities

• Observes and checks finished product coming off the machine and takes immediate corrective action to eliminate the causes of a sub-standard product.
• Remove gaylords when full and record weight and label material numbers.
• Monitor's equipment to ensure it is operating properly and under supervision of the Lead Operator performs routine maintenance on equipment.
• Complete daily production paperwork and troubleshoot stoppages and breakdowns.
• Under the direction of the Lead Operator, may train team members the correct operating procedures, safety, and quality policy procedures.
• Learn and comprehend all equipment, so adjustments can be made if / when needed.
• Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined at Pregis Films.
• Perform all aspects of the position to the highest quality.
• Report any non-conformance to Supervisor immediately.
• Know all quality standards and expectations of the position and if not sure, ask the supervisor beforecontinuing.
• Able to react swiftly in a safe manner in high stress situations.
• Willingness to learn.
