Job Description & Requirements
Title : CVOR Surgical Technologist
Location : Fayetteville, NC
Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : Day shift – 4x10-hour shifts (6 : 30 AM – 5 : 00 PM), block scheduling available
Job Responsibilities :
Assist surgeons and the cardiovascular team during open-heart and vascular procedures.
Prepare and maintain a sterile field by following strict aseptic techniques.
Set up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment required for cardiac and thoracic surgeries.
Handle surgical instruments and devices during procedures efficiently and accurately.
Monitor and maintain surgical equipment (GE, Philips, Siemens, PACS).
Ensure correct counts of instruments, sponges, and sharps.
Collaborate closely with nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgical team members to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes.
Support pre- and post-operative room turnover and equipment sterilization.
Required Skills and Experience :
Minimum 1 year of recent CVOR Surgical Tech experience (2 years preferred).
Experience with GE, Philips, Siemens, and PACS equipment.
Proficiency in Epic charting system.
Strong understanding of cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures.
Demonstrated ability to maintain sterile technique and surgical efficiency under pressure.
Certifications (Required) :
BLS (Basic Life Support)
Surgical Technologist certification (NBSTSA or equivalent)
Preferred Skills :
Previous experience in a Level III Trauma Center or teaching hospital setting.
Familiarity with a large acute care environment (700+ beds).
Excellent teamwork, communication, and critical-thinking skills. Additional Details :
Floating : Not required to float to sister facilities.
Guaranteed hours provided.
Scrub color : Navy or Khaki.
