Opportunity available for a Supplier Quality Engineer. In this role you will provide leadership and oversight to ensure suppliers consistently deliver high-quality products while supporting the development of supplier capabilities. This role involves building strong supplier relationships, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality standards are understood and met.
- Conduct on-site supplier visits to monitor production, communicate concerns, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Review raw materials and components to ensure compliance with specifications and contract requirements.
- Maintain accurate supplier inspection records and documentation.
- Assist in supplier performance evaluations and support training initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Lead or participate in root cause analyses and corrective action projects.
- Conduct internal and supplier quality audits as needed.
- Support first article inspections and ensure compliance of incoming parts.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain) to address quality-related process improvements.
- Track KPIs such as supplier rejections, scrap, and corrective action plans.
- Actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, recommending and implementing enhancements to quality processes.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer or in product inspection / manufacturing quality roles.Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.Understanding of inspection processes, specifications, drawings, and measurement techniques.Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).Knowledge of quality reviews, machining, materials (steel / stainless steel), welding, and supplier audits preferred.Travel
Approximately 20% travel to supplier locations for inspections and relationship management.Competitive compensation and benefits package, for eligible employees. The salary range for this type of role is approximately $105,000.00 - $110,000.00 annually. This range is an estimate and not a guarantee of compensation.
