Job description

Class B Driver

As a Class B Driver, you will be responsible for maintaining a valid Class B CDL license with an airbrake endorsement. You will safely operate a delivery truck in compliance with DOT, OSHA, and MSDS standards, ensuring customer satisfaction through on-time, accurate, and damage-free deliveries. Your role will include verifying delivery accuracy and reporting any quality variances, as well as loading and unloading delivery items using proper lifting techniques and safety protocols. Additionally, you will collect payments for deliveries as required, efficiently assemble orders, review and interpret invoices, perform basic math, and maintain legible written documentation. You will also be responsible for completing all required daily paperwork and delivery logs, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area and vehicle.

Responsibilities :

  • Maintain a valid Class B CDL license with airbrake endorsement.
  • Operate a delivery truck safely in compliance with DOT, OSHA, and MSDS standards.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with on-time, accurate, and damage-free deliveries.
  • Verify delivery accuracy and report any quality variances to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Load and unload delivery items using proper lifting techniques and safety protocols.
  • Collect payments for deliveries as required.
  • Efficiently assemble orders, ensuring proper lifting and pallet stacking methods.
  • Review and interpret invoices and cut slips accurately.
  • Perform basic math and maintain legible written documentation.
  • Complete all required daily paperwork and delivery logs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and vehicle.

Essential Skills :

  • Valid Class B CDL license with airbrake endorsement.
  • Experience with loading and unloading trucks and materials handling.
  • General labor skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Capable of working independently or collaboratively as part of a team.

    • Additional Skills & Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Physically able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds occasionally and 5080 pounds regularly.
  • Comfortable working in cold environments, including frozen and refrigerated areas.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift.
  • Frequent crouching, kneeling, and bending required.
  • Above-average endurance and coordination, including eye-hand, hand-foot, and balance.
  • Normal dexterity in hands and fingers with frequent repetitive motions.
  • Good vision and ability to distinguish colors.
  • Adequate hearing and sound perception for safe operation and communication.
  • Ability to clearly communicate issues both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to follow directions accurately and consistently.

    The work environment involves working with food in a delivery service, often in cold conditions such as freezers and refrigerated areas, and can be hot during the summer. Professional presentation is important.

    Pay and Benefits :

    The pay range for this position is $53992.00-$58370.00 / yr. Insurance Options, Voluntary Dental Plan, Voluntary Vision Plan, Voluntary Life Insurance, Group Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, Simplified Employee Pension / SEP-IRA, and Paid Time Off.
