Superintendent, Idaho Department Of Juvenile Corrections
The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections (IDJC) is currently recruiting for a Superintendent / Facility Administrator. This position is responsible for oversight of facility, administrative, supportive and programmatic functions of a juvenile correctional facility, and will also act as a liaison and representative with community partners and outside stakeholders. This is a full-time position located at our facility in Lewiston, Idaho.
Responsibilities include :
- Responsible for high-level management of IDJCs long-term, residential, juvenile correctional facility.
- Direct supervision of six team members.
- Works closely with our Education Program to support youth in our on-site school, Juniper Hills.
- Serves as the regional representative for the Department during various meetings within the community.
- Interviews, selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff.
- Manages and monitors a facility budget ranging from $2.4 to $7.3 million.
- Ensures compliance with the Juvenile Corrections Act, laws, rules, Federal PREA Regulations and Governor executive orders.
- Ensures juveniles are provided appropriate rehabilitative, medical, religious, and food services.
- Oversees all aspects of juvenile placements.
- Reports on facility operations and special projects to IDJC Leadership, and state and community partners.
Minimum qualifications include :
Experience with the juvenile justice system.Experience working with counties, courts, and other statewide organizations.Overseeing a large employee workforce.Directly supervising professional staff.Analyzing management and operational problems.Experience with the Balanced Approach and Restorative Justice model for juvenile populations.Preferred qualifications include :
Bachelors degree or higher in public and / or criminal justice administration and at least five years experience in the juvenile justice system.Experience in supervision or administration of a large, secure, youth correctional facility.Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels of government.Demonstrated ability to administer multifaceted programs and services.Demonstrated, strong leadership and management skills.Demonstrated, strong communication skills.We offer a competitive benefits package that includes :
