THE CITY OF LEAWOOD, KANSAS is looking for a Public Works Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

The City of Leawood is hiring a Facility Supervisor to oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and repair activities of its City-owned facilities. This position will coordinate and manage in-house facility projects from planning through completion, ensuring buildings and grounds are safe, functional, and well-maintained. The Facility Supervisor will serve as the primary contact between staff and vendors on assigned projects, ensuring work is completed efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with City standards and timelines. As the Facility Supervisor, you will split your time between coordinating facility projects and developing a team of skilled Facility Technicians and Specialists.

Your work responsibilities may include :

Minimum Requirements : Have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or building mechanical systems, or equivalent experience and education. Education may be substituted for some of the required experience. Have a minimum of two (2) years of supervisor or lead experience. Supervisory or lead experience includes completing performance appraisals, directing employee's daily work assignments, or evaluating the crew assignments.

Preferred Requirements : Ten (10) years of coordinating building maintenance in a governmental setting. HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical certification. Associates degree in electrical, plumbing, HVAC or related field with six (6) years of experience with two (2) years of supervisory or lead experience. International Facility management Association or Certified Facility Manager or be able to obtain within a timeframe designated by the Public Works Director.

Employees also receive a Time-in-Service Bonus equal to 5% of their annual salary every three years of employment on their anniversary date.
