Assistant Events Manager
Location : Apex Entertainment, Marlborough Ma
Are you ready to help create unforgettable experiences? Apex Entertainment is looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Assistant Events Manager to join our team. In this role, you'll work alongside our Event Management Team to deliver seamless, high-quality events-from corporate gatherings and private celebrations to large-scale functions. You'll play a key role in ensuring every detail runs smoothly, every guest leaves smiling, and every event is one to remember.
Key Responsibilities
Event Coordination & Operations
Support the planning, management, and execution of all Apex events, including corporate functions, private parties, and special occasions.
Attend Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings and ensure all event details are accurate and communicated.
Assist with hiring, training, and developing members of the Events Team.
Communication & Collaboration
Maintain open and effective communication with the Sales, Attractions, and Kitchen Teams to coordinate room assignments, menus, staffing, and product orders.
Ensure seamless collaboration across departments to deliver a unified guest experience.
Event Execution & Management
Assist in overseeing day-of event operations, ensuring smooth execution and prompt resolution of any challenges.
Provide leadership and guidance to the Events Team when needed.
Prepare and distribute weekly event updates to the management team to support appropriate staffing, inventory, and scheduling.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education : High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Event Management, or a related field preferred.
Experience : 1-2 years of experience in event planning, sales, or operations, with familiarity in managing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
Strong background in hospitality or food & beverage service, with a solid understanding of event logistics.
Excellent supervisory and interpersonal skills to lead, motivate, and support team members.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to accurately calculate figures, discounts, commissions, and percentages.
Valid driver's license or reliable transportation for off-site events.
Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
