MAJOR FUNCTION : To provide friendly, professional, and high-quality support to CompleteCare’s providers within a team-based, patient-centered medical home model of care.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES :
Provide services to patients while ensuring a safe environment of careReduce risks of nosocomial infections in patients, employees, and visitorsAlways embody friendly and courteous customer service with both patients and staffAct as an active participant in the healthcare team – working together with all levels of staff to ensure the best care possible for patientsWork with team to meet specific healthcare performance improvement goalsAdhere to all applicable HIPAA guidelines as to ensure confidentiality of patient informationProblem-solve issues as they arise in a proactive and positive mannerOrganize and prioritize tasks as assignedWork with supervisor to plan departmental activities, evaluate data and make suggestions for improvementMaintains clean and orderly workspace and efficiently utilizes suppliesOTHER JOB DUTIES :
Manages assigned provider’s schedule to ensure that we are optimizing access for our patients.Communicates with provider about patients to be seenGreets patients and escorts them to exam roomsIdentifies patients and confirms medical recordsSchedule appointments as necessaryRegisters patients and collects all information requiredPrepares patients record for providerPrepares patients for exam by collecting relevant medical history, information about visits, vital signs, and instructs patients on preparation for exam proceduresAssists provider during examinationSelects and completes all required forms for each medical screeningGuides patients through their visitAdministers vaccines and completes referrals as neededCommunicates status of the patient with other members of the healthcare teamAssures medical charts are returnedProperly disposes of soiled equipment and laundry and prepares regulated medical wasteTransports and retrieves instruments safely and prepares for sterilizationKeeps clinical area clean, orderly, and stocked with suppliesOpens and closes clinical area according to assignmentAssists Practice Manager, Head Nurse or Charge Nurse with other tasks and projects as required on an as-needed basis to meet the goals and objectives of the organization.May require lifting / assisting patientsPosition requires work with hazardous and bio-hazardous materialsRequires walking / standing for long periods of timeAdditional job duties as assignedRequirements : QUALIFICATIONS :
High School diploma or equivalent.Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program1 – 2 years of experience in a healthcare settingExperience with electronic medical records preferredMA certification required within 6 months of employmentCPR certifiedExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all members of the healthcare team.Commitment to professional growth and development in a dynamic, forward-thinking organizationDemonstrated knowledge in the role of every medical emergencyCompleteCare offers full-time and part-time employees a variety of generous benefits, including but not limited to :
