Electronics & Instrumentation Technician Opportunity
Are you an experienced Electronics & Instrumentation Technician with strong electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation skills? We're looking for a driven and capable team member to support operations at our chemical manufacturing site in Elyria, OH. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and troubleshooting complex systems — from sensors and transmitters to motors and control loops.

Main Focus :
The position is an integral part of the maintenance team and will perform preventative and corrective maintenance of test apparatus and peripheral equipment throughout the site in a safe and professional manner.
Accountabilities :
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair field installed industrial equipment as well as perform “bench work” on related components
- Read and interpret loop sheets, P&ID’s, and assembly and installation drawings
- Maintenance and reliability of site facilities, equipment, and instruments
Responsibilities :
Inspect, test, and repair electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems used to indicate, record, and control field devices in a process plant.Troubleshoot and repair low voltage electrical circuits used for motor and process controlTroubleshoot and replace motors, relays, electrical circuit protective devices, lighting devices and other electrical equipment as requiredCalibrate analytical devices used in monitoring operations, such as LEL Detectors, Gas Monitoring and detection, pH, conductivity, pressure, and flow.Trace out and tests instruments and measuring devices based on loop drawings or electrical schematics using test equipment and maintenance manualsRemoves defective instruments from system, decontaminates, disassembles, and cleans instruments, and replaces defective devices, using hand toolsFamiliarity with repairing, installing, and maintaining, mechanical equipmentLubricates instruments and replaces defective wiring and tubingCalibrates measuring instruments according to standards and / or manufacturer’s recommendations to ensure accuracy of recording and indicating functionPrepares schematic or loop drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments, circuits, and systemsSupport ISO 9001, 14001, and Responsible Care ProgramsAble to complete and update maintenance work orders through use of the plant CMMSActively engage in preventive maintenance of equipment and facilitiesPlan and schedule maintenance work in coordination with plant operationsProgram parameters and perform initial setup for instruments / transmitters used in measuring flow, pressure, temperature levels as requiredAdjust control valves to indicate proper positioning, adjust setting on valve controllers as required to verify operation of analog valvesProgram single loop controllersFamiliarity with PLC and / or DCS I / O systemsTroubleshoot issues with 24 VDC Loop Powered devices, verify input signals form discrete devices, verify analog signal operation and 4-20mA SignalsRequirements :
High school diploma or GED requiredCertification in Instrumentation and / or Instrumentation and Control Apprenticeship preferredCompletion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or trade school a plusMinimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in an industrial maintenance environmentExperience with working on equipment and systems utilized in hazardous locations is a plusPLC and HMI experience a plusPossess basic understanding of programmable logic controllers and distributed process control systemsEffective communication and good interpersonal skillsAbility to work unsupervised and work on own initiativeWilling to work overtimeServe on the On Call rotationMust be able to lift at least 50 poundsMust be computer literateCapable of climbing, balancing, kneeling, bending, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, and carrying in performance of work activitiesWe Offer a Competitive Benefits Package That Includes :
