This Transportation Engineer III - Senior Designer position is a professional civil engineering position that is an expert in various aspects of highway design. The Senior Designer provides advanced design support on complex highway projects including oversight and review of both preliminary and final design with particular attention to constructability, consistency of design, and cost.

To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience :
Licensure as a Professional Engineer plus two (2) years of work experience beyond such licensure which demonstrates the performance of significantly complex engineering science, competency in evaluating risk, and applying sound engineering judgement as it applies to planning, project development, and / or maintenance of public works structures and facilities.
Licensing / Registration / Certification Requirements : (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class).
Licensure as a Professional Engineer as issued by the Maine State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers.
