Role and Responsibilities

UpEquity is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing team. Reporting to the Controller, you will be instrumental in building out our accounting function from the ground up and will have direct responsibility for key financial processes. This role offers high visibility and the chance to significantly influence our financial operations and internal controls.

We are looking for a proactive individual who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves, take ownership of tasks, and contribute to the development of a robust and scalable accounting department.

As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :

• Managing all aspects of the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
• Taking ownership of the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Assisting in the preparation of internal and external financial reports, including monthly financial packages for leadership
• Collaborating with the Controller to establish and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Playing a key role in the annual financial audit and preparing necessary documentation
• Conducting variance analysis and providing insights on key financial metrics
• Staying up to date on accounting standards and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field strongly preferred. CPA certification is preferred.
