Sr. Director, B2B Payment Product Solutions

Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS) is a rapidly expanding team dedicated to delivering innovative payment solutions for businesses and governments worldwide. By partnering with Financial Institutions and Fintechs, VCS offers core payment products combined with seamless experiences that streamline critical business processes such as expense management, compliance, and AP / AR payments. The goal is to enhance cash flow, productivity, and efficiency for clients. VCS provides tailored products for all business sizes, featuring automated payment processing, expense tracking, and detailed reporting and reconciliation, all within a secure and globally recognized payment network. This empowers businesses to manage finances more effectively, reduce costs, and gain valuable insights into spending patterns.

There is a rapid shift from plastic to digital credentials within the B2B payments ecosystem, mirroring and building upon the same shift within consumer payments over the past decade. We are seeking a senior leader who can navigate ambiguity to identify B2B payment solutions to solve for clients' and partners' business problems and drive opportunities to advance the VCS business.

We are transforming the commercial payments landscape and looking for a dynamic, experienced leader to provide technical solutioning for our clients and FinTech partners in North America, and partner early and often with our Strategy team to solution for new use cases, 5-year strategic objectives, and emerging business opportunities.

You will be successful in this role if you have :

  • A deep understanding and practical application of B2B payments, SaaS solutions, and APIs.
  • Natural curiosity to explore the art of the possible, thrive in ambiguity, and the ability to diagnose business problems and bring accurate, repeatable solutions to market.
  • A passion for working with clients and demonstrated leadership in delivering powerful solutions to clients and partners.
  • Proven experience in Product Development, Product Management, and Commercialization.
  • Strong collaborative skills to work closely with product leaders, sales teams, regional leaders, client services.
  • A track record of leadership, building teams, and evangelizing new business functions.
  • A creative and action-oriented approach to innovation, and interacting with executives and stakeholders to brainstorm ideas and bring ideas to market.

Roles & Responsibilities :

Solutioning and Product

  • Lead a team of B2B payments experts to solution for clients and partners, bringing to life the power of Visa to solve their most pressing business problems and help them realize opportunities in the market.
  • Create and develop new solutions and generate momentum for ideas that will move the business forward. This involves anticipating market needs, proactive leadership and engagement on new ideas, and designing innovative solutions that address those needs effectively.
  • Work cross-functionally and partner with sales, strategy, product leaders, and regions to understand client and market needs, diagnose problems, and design and deploy fit for purpose, repeatable solutions.
  • Develop initial concept and business requirements. Assess buy, build, partner options for capability gaps. Vet business cases for new ideas and act as an ambassador to Global Product as you bring in opportunities for development.
  • Liaise with other business units, product leaders, and other relevant groups to ensure flawless execution and alignment of goals.
  • Strategy :

  • Proactively lead on solutions with our VCS Strategy team and other Visa teams outside of VCS.
  • Partner early and often with regional teams to understand their strategic goals, define early-stage product requirements, ensure market readiness, and develop comprehensive product strategies across various product teams to meet the increasing demand for payment solutions.
  • Work with stakeholders to integrate go-to-market strategies with cohesive solution design and product delivery. Provide strategic, cross-functional leadership to ensure that products are effectively positioned and delivered to support our strategy.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership. Deliver a point of view on strategic initiatives and opportunities to position Visa as the industry leader.
  • Develop and implement product strategies that align with client needs and the company's vision, ensuring Visa is the "go-to" solution for B2B payments.
  • Brainstorm with internal and external teams to develop innovative ideas and potential solutions for co-creation and market differentiation. This includes thinking about Visa's enterprise-wide capabilities and identifying opportunities to augment VCS offerings.
  • Leadership :

  • In an environment characterized by rapid change and uncertainty, strong leadership is crucial. We need leaders who can effectively drive progress and achieve outcomes by making informed decisions amidst ambiguity. These leaders will play a pivotal role in guiding teams through transitions and ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.
  • Build and lead a team of B2B payments experts across and areas of expertise.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills, focusing on diverse, high-performing teams, and fostering an inclusive culture that values curiosity and collaboration. Develop the team's culture in line with these principles. Coach and mentor staff to thrive at Visa and beyond.
  • Establish yourself as a leader in VCS and trusted partner to the region and other Visa functions
  • Drive critical outcomes at senior levels in the company. Provide technical expertise and strong business acumen.
  • Be proactive, and action-oriented in collaborating with other leaders. Motivate those around you to achieve success.
  • This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

    Basic Qualifications 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters / MBA / JD / MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD Preferred Qualifications 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience Product and Solutioning : 10+ years of relevant product management or solutioning experience, with a focus in B2B payments and commercial solutions. Demonstrated thought leadership and the aptitude to think creatively and identify new opportunities to innovate and differentiate with evidence of tangible business results Industry Knowledge : In-depth knowledge of the B2B payments industry and its regulatory environment is highly desirable. Experience working with a diverse range of players in the payments ecosystem and understanding with their commerce and payments needs Commercial Acumen : Track record of delivering commercially viable solutions (concept to launch), inclusive of monetization strategies and business models that align with company goals. Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Clients : Client champion with a proven track record of developing and executing a vision for successful products and solutions based on deep understanding of customer needs Strategy : Excellent ability to communicate strategy, and secure internal investment by consistently executing strategy and delivering results. Influence : Proven success influencing senior stakeholders, and decision makers across the globe Collaboration : Natural collaborator, with excellent communication skills and strong executive presence. Thrive in Ambiguity : Must be self-motivated and comfortable with ambiguity, possessing the maturity and competence to influence across multiple levels and organizations including internal and external stakeholders.
