Overview
A reputable healthcare institution in southeastern Massachusetts is seeking a skilled MT or MLT to join its clinical laboratory team for a night shift role. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary lab that supports inpatient and outpatient services.
About the Role
As a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician , you'll perform testing across multiple disciplines to support accurate and timely diagnostics. You'll also contribute to maintaining lab quality, instrument reliability, and collaborative communication with clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform diagnostic testing in all areas, including hematology, chemistry, blood bank, urinalysis, microbiology (e.g., Gram staining, planting, strep and respiratory virus testing)
- Validate specimen acceptability and resolve issues according to protocol
- Enter, verify, and review test results in the LIS; investigate delta checks and maintain accuracy
- Communicate critical values or result inquiries to clinical teams per lab policy
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate lab equipment; document QC and maintenance activities
- Assist in onboarding and training of new lab personnel and students
- Follow all safety and infection control procedures, including proper PPE usage
- Participate in proficiency testing and ensure regulatory readiness

Required :
Completion of an accredited MT or MLT programMLT Track :Associate's degree in a chemical, biological, or physical science or medical technology
MLT (ASCP), CLT (NCA), or ASCP-eligible certificationMT Track :Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related science (minimum 36 semester hours in biological and physical sciences)
ASCP-eligible requiredPreferred :
One or more years of hospital laboratory experienceMT / MLS (ASCP), CLS (NCA), or equivalent certification
