The Health Educations Specialist is responsible for the strategic and operational management of all educational programs within the Department of Dermatology, which spans across 5 locations (UCSF Health, VAMC, ZSFGH, BCHO). Reporting directly to the Vice Chair of Education and the Director of Administration, this role provides comprehensive oversight and coordination across six core program areas :
1. ACGME-Accredited Dermatology Residency Program
2. ABMS-Accredited Clinical Fellowship Program
3. ACGME-Accredited Clinical Fellowship Programs
4. Non-ACGME Clinical Fellowship Programs
5. Six Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) Clerkship Programs for UCSF and Visiting Medical Students
6. GME Appointments for Visiting Scholars and Short-Term Rotators
The Health Educations Specialist serves as the department's primary liaison to the Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME), the Undergraduate Medical Education Office, Continuing Medical Education, the UCSF Medical Center, the Dean's Office, and the Department of Dermatology. This role ensures compliance with evolving institutional, accreditation, and regulatory requirements while maintaining the operational effectiveness of all training programs.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $83,700 - $125,600 (Annual Rate).

Department Description
The Department of Dermatology's Educational Program operates across three clinical sites and encompasses a diverse range of training initiatives. These include the ACGME-accredited Dermatology Residency Program-a three-year residency designed to educate and prepare future dermatologists-as well as a specialized four-year Physician-Scientist Track for clinicians pursuing combined clinical and research careers.
In addition, the department administers two non-ACGME clinical fellowship programs, offering advanced training in areas such as complex medical dermatology, and psoriasis, and clinical research. The program also oversees a Visiting Resident Program and supports four undergraduate medical education clerkships, providing both clinical and research experiences for medical students.
