We run a diversified operation including our 107-bed long term residential behavioral health treatment center, two recycling facilities, and a transitional housing apartment building.
Position Summary :
The Executive Director of Treatment (ED) reports directly to the CEO and is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. The ED is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the behavioral health treatment operations. This includes excellence in patient outcomes, maximizing services through high utilization, milieu management, ensuring a high-quality work environment and strong work force retention, and adherence to regulatory compliance and safety standards. The ED works closely with the CEO on strategic initiatives, with the Clinical Director to ensure seamless integration of clinical and operational functions, and with the Director of Work Skills to maximize the benefits of our combined clinical and work skills curriculum.
Primary Responsibilities :
Organizational Leadership
- Lead and develop a team of 65+ treatment staff across clinical, operational, and administrative departments.
- Drive outcomes aligned with strategic plans, budgets, and board commitments.
- Promote trauma-informed, evidence-based clinical practices.
- Foster a culture of equity, inclusion, and professional development.
Management & Operations
Supervise department heads including Clinical Director, Patient Services, Health Team, and more.Oversee hiring, training, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.Ensure compliance with Washington State regulations, HIPAA, CFR 42, and CARF standards.Manage 24-hour patient care protocols and emergency procedures.Lead program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.Strategic & Social Enterprise Development
Advise the CEO and leadership on strategic planning and policy development.Support expansion of social enterprise initiatives.Identify new mission-aligned revenue opportunities.Collaborate with Clinical and Work Skills Directors to enhance integrated treatment models.Financial & Operational Oversight
Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and reporting.Manage contracts, procurement, IT, and facility operations.Ensure regulatory compliance and optimize resource allocation.Community & Stakeholder Engagement
Build relationships with community partners, funders, and government agencies.Represent Key Works at public events and advocacy efforts.Support fundraising and donor engagement strategies.Requirements : Qualifications :
Education :
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Health Care Administration, Business, Social Work, or related field preferred.Experience :
5+ years in senior leadership roles in behavioral health, healthcare, nonprofit, or social enterprise settings.Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex budgets.Familiarity with SUD treatment models and trauma-informed care.Experience with EHR systems, Medicaid, and Washington’s HCA is a plus.Skills :
