Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $46,660 - $50,000 per week

Physician Assistant Job Details – Greenville, SC

Assignment Type : Locum tenens (travel contract) – Cardiothoracic Surgery

Location : Greenville, SC 29605 (South Carolina healthcare jobs)

Setting : 90% Hospital (Inpatient / Acute Care), 10% Office / Clinic (Outpatient)

Shift : Monday – Friday, 6 : 00 AM – 2 : 00 PM (8-hour days)

Hours per Week : 40

Contract Duration : 26 weeks (Start : 1 / 1 / 2026 – End : 7 / 2 / 2026)

Call Coverage : 5% weekdays, 75% weekends (primarily ER call)

Patient Population : Adults only

Daily Caseload : Approx. 10 patients / day (5 admissions, 5 ICU, 4 surgeries)

Support Staff : 4 physicians, 7 mid-level providers

EMR System : Epic

Qualifications for Physician Assistant – Cardiothoracic Surgery

At least 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant in cardiothoracic surgery (PA jobs in surgery)

Board Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA certified)

Active South Carolina PA license or eligibility to obtain (allow 4-6 months for processing)

Proficient in vein harvesting and first assisting on all open heart cases

Strong suturing skills and experience in pre- and post-operative surgical care

Epic EMR experience preferred (training available)

Flu vaccination required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

Clean malpractice history

Key Responsibilities

First assist in all open heart surgeries, including vein harvesting and advanced suturing

Deliver comprehensive pre- and post-operative care for cardiothoracic surgery patients

Manage admissions and ICU patients as part of a collaborative clinical team

Participate in call coverage, including ER call on weekends

Accurately document patient care in the Epic EMR system

Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
