LPN - Urology

Works under the direction of a registered nurse or physician to provide basic bedside care within prescribed limitations for hospital patients of all ages.

Cleveland Clinic's G90 Urology Medical / Surgical Unit is dedicated to the care of post-operative urology and overflow surgical patients and focuses on pain control, return of bowel and bladder function, DVT prevention and ambulation. Patients in this unit range in age from young adult to geriatric, however, the most common patient population is approximately 65 years old. Some of the primary procedures performed on this unit include partial nephrectomy, radical nephrectomy, radical prostatectomy, urolithiasis, and cystectomy with continent / incontinent urinary diversion.

A caregiver in this position works 11 : 00AM - 11 : 30PM

A caregiver who excels in this role will :

Collect, document and report patient data and observations.

Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.

Administer medications and / or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.

Perform routine laboratory tests.

Educate patients and family members.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include :

Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.

Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include :

• One year of patient care experience.

Physical Requirements :

Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.

Involves extensive standing and walking.

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and / or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly : $23.25

Maximum hourly : $33.50
