Executive Director, Operations

Job Description Summary : The Executive Director, Operations serves as the senior executive responsible for operational leadership across MarinHealth Medical Network (MHMN). Provides strategic direction and oversight for network-wide operations, quality, compliance, and performance improvement initiatives.

Partners with executive leadership to ensure alignment with organizational goals, financial sustainability, and patient-centered service excellence. This role drives innovation, operational efficiency, and growth strategies while fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability. This position provides staff assistance to the MHMN Leadership team and participates in executive level planning and evaluations.

Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions :

Pay Range : $96.15 - $132.00 - $168.25

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with MHMN's mission and long-term goals. Participate in executive-level planning, financial forecasting, and organizational development. Lead initiatives to improve access, efficiency, and patient experience across all service lines.
  • Provide leadership and direction for multi-site operations, ensuring consistency and best practices. Oversee compliance, risk management, and quality improvement programs in partnership with relevant departments. Drive process improvement and change management initiatives to enhance performance and reduce costs.
  • Manage financial, human, and material resources effectively. Ensure budgets are developed, monitored, and aligned with organizational priorities. Establish productivity standards and monitor performance metrics.
  • In partnership with clinical operations and quality teams, ensure physician alignment with major initiatives across the medical network.
  • Mentor and develop senior operational leaders and managers. Promote a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with physician leadership, recruiting, and other departments to support operational goals. Serve as a liaison between executive leadership and operational teams.
  • Participates in the strategic planning activities in coordination with MHMN President and interprets the role of clinical services in the organization's strategic plan, inclusive of access initiatives, capital and financial planning, employee engagement and innovation.
  • Expands patient care services and / or develops new programs to generate alternative sources of patients.
  • Develops goals and objectives for the departments supervised, ensuring short-term objectives and long-range strategies are consistent with system interests.

Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Services Administration, or related field required; Master's preferred.

Experience : 810 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations within a multi-site environment; experience in strategic planning, financial management, and organizational development.

Skills : Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; expertise in operational efficiency, compliance, and quality improvement.

Compensation : The posted pay range complies with applicable law and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Individual pay is set by skills, experience, qualifications, and internal / market equity, consistent with MarinHealth's compensation philosophy. Positions covered by collective bargaining agreements are governed by those agreements.
