Substance Abuse Clinician Addiction Institute MSW Full Time (M-Th 12pm-8pm and Fri 9am-5pm)

Description

To provide clinical counseling services to patients and families.

Responsibilities

1. Performs biopsychosocial assessments

2. Screens new patients in order to evaluate current social mental health and medical needs

3. Conducts treatment planning

4. Does individual and group counseling

5. Documents treatment in medical records

6. Presents at case conferences.

7. Manages care assigned to patients.

8. Actively participates in clinical supervision and utilizes direction.

9. Provides reports of clinical services to supervisor when requested.

10. Make referrals to appropriate resources for the ongoing care of patients.

11. Keeps statistics of services provided

12. Interfaces with manage care companies and referral sources to implement treatment plans.

13. Provides consultation to patients throughout AIMS when requested.

14. Provides outreach activities outside the hospital center.

15. Supervises and collects urine specimen for toxicology

16. Assess the need for psychiatric services and makes appropriate referrals

17. Provides intensive case management for patients with multiple problems when necessary

Qualifications

Bachelors degree required Masters degree preferred

Completion of CASAC Social work or mental health counselling internship

Active New York State Licensure in Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselling (CASAC) Social Work (LCSW or LMSW) Mental Health Counselling (LMHC) preferred
