Overview
Kimley-Horn's Virginia Beach, Virginia (VA) office is seeking an Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their Natural Gas team! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Engineering experience of P&IDs and process flow diagrams
- Experience with field instrumentation and configuration
- Controls I / O list development
- Designing electrical power distribution for SCADA systems
- Control panel layout and wiring
- Detailed site loop wiring diagrams
- PLC equipment selection and development
- Managing project tasks, project design and permitting, construction coordination, and providing regular communication and guidance with less experienced staff
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and external clients to contribute to the successful completion of assigned projects
- Maintain a high degree of quality sets of plans along with checking the work of others
- Create work plans and adhere to the budget set by the client and performing strong project management knowledge
- Attend meetings and communicate with clients, government entities, and various regulatory agencies to fulfill any regulations and requirements relating to projects
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules
Qualifications
A BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering program4+ years of relevant engineering design experienceProfessional Engineering ( License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)Design experience preferred in process plants, oil & gas industry, or heavy industrial applicationsExperience with instrumentation selection and specification, process control strategies and SCADA selection and specificationExperience designing electrical SCADA systemsExperience with PLCs, RTUs and HMI programming softwareExperience with MCC and VFD control requirementsExcellent written and oral communication skillsPositive attitude, self-motivated; sense of urgency to produce high quality workAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesEntrepreneurial spirit with the potential / desire to lead a practice and manage clients and a team
