Overview Location : McDonough, GA Compensation : + Local $29.67 per hour + Long haul $.058 per mile

Overview : Incumbent is responsible for transporting and delivering freight from third-party supplier locations to NDCP warehouses safely, legally and on-time. This position requires working in environments with variation in temperature and humidity (e.g., dry, cooler and freezer areas of the trailer, along with changing outdoor weather conditions.)

Responsibilities :

• Safely operates a tractor trailer truck that transports product to and from specified destinations.
• Conducts a proper pre-trip inspection to ensure the vehicle is safe to operate.
• Ensures delivery-related paperwork is in order before departing the Distribution Center or transportation hub.
• Prepares, receives and provides appropriate documentation for the delivery of products.
• Assists with the loading of trailer at supplier locations.
• Detaches loaded trailer and picks up empty trailers in a safe manner into store locations.
• Maintains proper logs of travel and product according to Federal, State and DOT regulations.
• Maintains contact with Member Services / applicable operations transportation personnel to communicate any delivery problems or delays.
• Ensures the cleanliness and presentation of the interior of the truck cab.
• Conducts a proper post-trip inspection to ensure equipment is in good working order to minimize delays the following day.
• Timely reports any vehicle maintenance or malfunction issues to the appropriate Transportation Supervisor.
• Utilizes a high level of customer service in serving as the primary NDCP point of contact between the Distribution Center and the supplier.
