About the Role
We're seeking an experienced and visionary Nurse Director for Maternal Child Health to lead excellence across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and related maternal care units . This pivotal leadership role oversees clinical and operational performance in a 24 / 7 acute care environment , ensuring patient safety, quality outcomes, and caregiver engagement remain top priorities.
As a key member of the nursing leadership team, the Nurse Director will champion innovation, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement to advance the standard of maternal and neonatal care.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
- Direct Maternal Child Health units to deliver safe, high-quality, and compassionate care.
- Develop and implement operational and clinical strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Oversee budgets, staffing, and resource utilization to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Ensure 24 / 7 readiness, clinical continuity, and compliance with best practices.
Clinical & Compliance Oversight
Ensure adherence to nursing practice standards and all regulatory requirements.Lead quality improvement, patient safety, and accreditation readiness initiatives.Conduct clinical audits, surveys, and performance evaluations to drive compliance.Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary care teams for seamless care delivery.People Management & Development
Recruit, mentor, and empower nursing professionals to achieve excellence.Promote staff engagement, accountability, and growth through education and coaching.Implement performance management, workforce planning, and succession strategies.Strategic Innovation
Lead cross-functional process improvement initiatives.Apply data-driven insights to enhance operational outcomes.Promote a culture of innovation, safety, and continuous learning.Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Active Registered Nurse (RN) License – CaliforniaBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification – RequiredMaster's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field7+ years of patient care experience2+ years of experience managing operational or project budgets2+ years in a leadership role with direct reportsPreferred
