Sales Director Supplements, North America

It's an exciting time to join Kerry and we are hiring a Sales Director Supplements, North America to lead an entrepreneurial team and develop our sales strategy. This role will work extensively with customer product development, strategic sourcing, marketing, and innovation teams to design customized and value-added product solutions. This individual should be an entrepreneurial leader with existing networks and has the ability to build strong relationships in the dietary supplement category. The successful candidate must be able to lead, coach and guide a sales team in this quick moving innovative nutritional supplement space. They must also be able to speak confidently to Kerry's capabilities while matching these capabilities to the objectives of the customer. Furthermore, they should be able to focus both externally and report internally on key opportunities and challenges in the market as we adapt to new dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for achieving and leading sales goals across the Supplements End Use Market (EUM)
  • Deliver on a pipeline of sustainable growth for Kerry through a deep understanding of customers and their business practices, with emphasis on senior-level customer relationships
  • Develop and execute sales strategies and implement with the Sales Team
  • Be comfortable managing a team of 5 to 6 sales managers and coach them to high levels of success
  • Maintain accountability for governance and stewardship for consistent and uniform margin management
  • Ensure that appropriate resources and actions are recommended to address customer-based issues including competitive threats, product and service complaints
  • Manage financial and commercial terms and agreements in accordance with Kerry policy
  • Review internal progress and facilitate initiatives to develop and maintain business support information for the account team
  • Establish Kerry as a long-term supplier at accounts by developing, maintaining and expanding strong customer working relationships at multiple levels and functions
  • Participate in development of annual sales budget targets. Strive to meet budget objectives, and take appropriate action to achieve and / or exceed sales budget targets

Qualifications and Skills Required for the Role

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required with preference in Business, Communications, Food Science, Chemistry or related discipline
  • 10-15 years experience progressively responsible in Sales, technical or R&D roles within an ingredient, supplement, beverage or nutrition / wellness company
  • Experience in CPG or Foodservice industry
  • Product development, projects, and process support experience
  • Selling a variety of food ingredient products and technologies to customer accounts
  • Leading cross-functional teams
  • Budgeting and strategic account planning
  • Negotiating / communicating pricing
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate strategies and turn them into clear compelling actionable plans and results
  • Leadership and management (of employees, projects and agencies)
  • The typical hiring range for this role is $139,790.00 to $245,838.00 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
