Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) - Nights

Location : Milan, NM

Schedule : 36 hours / week, night shifts; must have open availability including weekends and holidays

Contract Length : 13 weeks (with potential to extend)

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours / week

Weekly Gross Pay : $1,664.00

Job Overview :

This is a full-time contract assignment in a correctional healthcare environment. The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and supervisory nursing care for incarcerated individuals, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate treatment within a secure facility. The role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and a commitment to maintaining both patient care standards and correctional security.

Responsibilities :

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in accordance with state licensure and correctional healthcare policies.
• Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and sick call visits.
• Dispense, administer, and document medication distribution, including pill call.
• Perform patient assessments, triage illnesses and injuries, and coordinate referrals to higher-level care when necessary.
• Supervise and support LVN / LPN staff and unlicensed medical personnel.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with standards.
• Monitor inmate hospitalizations and assist with early releases as directed.
• Respond to medical emergencies and perform rescue functions in crises or disasters.
• Conduct safety checks of medical units and secure medical supplies.
• Provide health counseling and education to inmates / residents as required.
