We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team and play a crucial role in obtaining blood and nonblood specimens such as urine, sputum, and throat swabs for laboratory testing. The role involves performing screening tests, reporting results, and preparing specimens for laboratory testing and dispatch to reference laboratories.
Responsibilities
Obtain blood specimens through venipuncture and other methods.
Collect nonblood specimens including urine, sputum, and throat swabs.
Perform screening tests and accurately report results.
Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
Prepare specimens for dispatch to reference laboratories.
Essential Skills
Phlebotomy skills including blood draw and venipuncture.
Phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required.
Minimum of 6 months of experience or clinical training in phlebotomy.
Experience in hospital settings through clinical rotations if newly certified.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to work in a busy hospital lab setting.
Flexibility to work night shifts from 8pm-4am, Monday through Friday, including every other weekend.
Experience with arterial blood gases (ABGs) and rapid response situations.
Experience handling pediatric cases, though primarily working with adults.
Work Environment
This position is based in a busy hospital laboratory setting. The schedule includes night shifts from 8pm to 4am, Monday to Friday, with shifts every other weekend, allowing for a consistent weekly day off. The work involves responding to codes and rapid responses, and primarily involves working with adult patients. The hospital offers a unique development structure for career advancement and is undergoing an exciting transition, taking over labs previously managed by external entities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $20.00 / hr.
