Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Troubleshoot production machinery and test equipment
- Write machine specifications for the procurement of production machinery and test equipment
- Write test plans, design and construct mechanical testing apparatus, conduct testing, analyze data with statistical validity, and write test reports
- Install, document and refine production systems to meet safety, quality, cost, and throughput requirements
Education and experience :
0 – 3 years experienceBachelor’s Degree in area of specialty or related field, or related work experienceTraining Requirements :
Amenable to offsite training or instruction as requiredPhysical Job Demands :
Occasional liftingContinuous mental and visual attention requiredSitting for extended periods of time may be necessarySubject to random drug and alcohol testing under DoD regulationsRequirements :
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Manufacturing Systems Technology : Knowledge and application of lean manufacturing principles, and product / process variation reduction through DMAIC methodology. Experience mapping processes and writing operating procedures.Processing Technology : Experience in chemical or energetic materials processing. Melt / pour, mix / cast / cure, extrusion, consolidation pressing, milling, drilling, grinding, assembly, test, and packaging, or other related processing or manufacturing experience. Experience in CNC programming through HAAS conversational or Master CAM is desirable.Mechanical Technology : materials selection, simple stress and strain analysis, jig and fixture design, gage design, and simple machine designControl technology, including simplistic pneumatic and hydraulic control systemsCommunication Experience : Assembly and detailed drawings, machine specifications, test plans and reporting, project planning, capital expenditure proposals, standard operating procedures, and customer correspondence on technical issuesApplication Experience : MS Office Programs, Mini-tab, AutoCAD, and MS Project
