Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Human Factors Engineer for the FAA - PSS contract , supporting the Civilian Division.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in one of the following or a related field : Physical Sciences (e.g., mathematics, physics, meteorology, chemistry), Applied or Experimental Psychology, Human Factors, Ergonomics, Sociology, Industrial Engineering
- 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
- 1-20 years of relevant experience in human factors engineering or a related discipline
- Experience in conducting human-computer interface analysis, human-in-the-loop evaluations, and ergonomic assessments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on human-centered system design
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
Master's degree or MBA in a related field (may substitute for Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience)Ph.D. in a related field (may substitute for Bachelor's degree and 7 years of experience)Experience with human factors in aviation, aerospace, defense, or complex technical systemsFamiliarity with industry standards and methodologies such as MIL-STD-1472, ISO 9241, or HFES guidelinesProficiency in usability testing tools, human performance modeling, or simulation environmentsRESPONSIBILITIES
Perform human factors engineering analysis related to human-computer interaction, ergonomics, kinematics, and situational awarenessDevelop and evaluate human-in-the-loop scenarios to assess system usability and performanceConduct studies to support the development and integration of human-centered design concepts and operational requirementsApply ergonomic principles to the design of systems, workspaces, and user interfacesAnalyze cognitive and physical demands to optimize human-system integrationPrepare technical reports, evaluations, and recommendations to inform design improvementsCollaborate with system designers, engineers, and stakeholders to implement human factors best practicesSupport testing and validation of system interfaces and user interactions#J-18808-Ljbffr
