We are looking for a skilled IT Storage Engineer to join our team in Tampa, Florida. In this Contract-to-Permanent role, you will play a critical part in designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced storage solutions within a Linux-based environment. This position requires hands-on expertise in storage technologies and scripting, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance of storage infrastructure.
Responsibilities :
- Design, implement, and manage Linux-based storage systems to meet performance and scalability requirements.
- Optimize storage solutions for capacity, reliability, and availability.
- Configure and maintain file systems such as ext4, Btrfs, and other advanced technologies.
- Administer storage protocols and technologies, including iSCSI and distributed storage.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve storage-related issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate storage solutions with overall infrastructure.
- Automate storage provisioning and maintenance tasks using scripting languages like Bash and Python.
- Ensure data security and compliance with industry standards, including encryption and access controls.
- Perform capacity planning and conduct performance tuning for storage systems.
- Keep up-to-date with emerging storage technologies and recommend enhancements to existing systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in Linux system administration with a focus on storage solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux storage technologies, including Samba, iSCSI, and distributed systems.
- Proficiency in managing file systems such as ext4, Btrfs, and others.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise storage systems such as NetApp, Ceph, or GlusterFS.
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages for automation tasks.
- Familiarity with virtualization and containerization tools like VMware, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Understanding of backup and disaster recovery solutions, as well as storage networking protocols.
