Job Description
Execute brand strategy and tactics in field, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and maximize short and long‑term sales performance, placing the patient at the center of all efforts, and operating within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc. to meet or exceed those objectives.
- Create and execute a pre‑call plan using SMART objectives and post‑call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections consistently and close every sales call.
- Proactively serve customer needs, expectations and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win‑win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments / dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise; share this market intelligence with in‑field team, brand team and sales manager to achieve alignment and anticipate environmental changes.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers, identify, develop and maintain disease state experts and speakers / advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business‑related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.At least five years of relevant industry experience (minimum three years in pharma / health / science industry) and a high school diploma / GED required.Demonstrate in‑depth scientific, therapeutic, product and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert; strong business acumen and strategic thinking; operate effectively in a matrix environment.Proven track record in selling and solid presentation skills; adapt quickly to customer style / behavior; provide impactful ideas.Influence others and act as a credible role model; build collaborative partnership with district colleagues and matrix team; lead by example.Documented success in leadership and support role with increased responsibility at district, region and / or organizational levels.Preferred : proven track record in sales performance within respective therapeutic areas; commercial pharma industry experience such as physician / account based selling, training, managed healthcare or marketing.English language proficiency verbally and in writing.Must satisfy all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements (background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, state licenses).Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.Key Stakeholders
External : Specialty physicians, pharmacists, nurses and others depending on brand plan.
Internal : In‑field team members, Sales Management (DSM), Marketing Management, Training, Customer Excellence, and Brand Plan stakeholders.
