Sterile Process Tech

Job Summary :

The SPD Technician is responsible for processing items using sterilization or high level disinfectant, the handling and care of instruments and proper packaging and preparation of applicable supplies for sterilization. The Sterile Processing Tech performs and participates in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment.

Licensure and Certification :

• Sterile Processing certification required Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) Certification through IAHCSMM.  OR Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Tech (CSPDT) Certification through CBSPD.
• Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) preferred
