Overview

Omega Technical Services is seeking an experienced Nuclear Procedure Writer to support operations within a highly regulated Department of Energy (DOE) environment in Oak Ridge, TN. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical writing skills and a deep understanding of nuclear operations, conduct of operations, and regulatory compliance. This position plays a vital role in ensuring safe, consistent, and compliant execution of operational activities through the development and maintenance of high-quality procedures.

Responsibilities

Procedure Development : Develop, revise, and maintain operations, maintenance, and test procedures that accurately reflect current field practices, engineering designs, and regulatory requirements.

• Collaboration : Work closely with engineers, subject matter experts (SMEs), operations personnel, and management to collect technical data and translate complex processes into clear, actionable instructions.
• Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all procedures adhere to applicable standards and requirements, including DOE Orders, NQA-1, and Conduct of Operations principles.
• Technical Accuracy : Review and validate procedures for technical accuracy, usability, and conformance with approved templates and administrative requirements.
• Human Performance Integration : Apply human factors and human performance principles to enhance clarity, usability, and safety of work instructions.
• Document Control : Maintain document configuration and revision control in accordance with company and client procedures.
• Audit & Readiness Support : Provide documentation support for audits, assessments, and readiness reviews, ensuring traceability and compliance documentation are complete and accurate.
• Process Improvement : Evaluate existing procedures and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and compliance.
