About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Intellectual Property Counsel to lead its global IP strategy and operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team and providing expert advice on a wide range of IP matters, with a focus on portfolio evaluation, acquisition, and monetization. This role requires a deep understanding of the business drivers in the innovation and IP service environment, as well as the ability to deliver results in a rapidly growing and ambiguous setting. The Chief IP Counsel will also be involved in overseeing patent litigation, licensing, and acquisition activities, and will be expected to build and manage relationships with top-tier law firms and financiers. Applicants for the Chief Intellectual Property Counsel position at the company should have a minimum of 20 years' of IP experience, with at least 15 years' of legal experience in advising technology companies. The ideal candidate will have a background that includes both law firm and in-house experience, and a proven track record in IP licensing and acquisitions. Key responsibilities for this role include leading the global IP strategy, managing patent and technical analysis, supporting enforcement strategies, and driving portfolio strategy to maximize shareholder value. The role demands excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. A Juris Doctor degree and an active bar license are required, with a preference for candidates with experience in ADR and mediation.
