Position Summary
The Education Support Coordinator I (ESC I) supports Brightlane Learning programming by providing direct academic support to students, assisting with site logistics, and coordinating with volunteer tutors. This entry-level role works under the guidance of senior program staff and is ideal for individuals beginning a career in education or youth services.

One position is at a K-8 school site located on the Northwest side of Indianapolis - 2 days / week (Mondays and Wednesdays), 9a - 4p, with an occasional Friday team meeting.
One position is at a K-5 school site located in the West Washington Township area of Indianapolis - 2 days / week (Days can be flexible Monday - Thursday, with an occasional Friday team meeting.Duties and Responsibilities
These responsibilities reflect the ESC Is commitment to adaptive support, collaborative teamwork, self-leadership, and proactive problem-solving in service of students and volunteers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Programming & Academic Support
Oversee Brightlane Learning programming at the assigned school site, including managing intake meetings, supporting tutoring sessions, and identifying programming needs based on student goals.Serve as the primary point of contact for Brightlane Learning volunteer tutors at the site, providing on-site tutor orientation, managing schedules, and guiding tutors in their support of students.Create Personalized Learning Plans for students based on individual needs, grades, and data, ensuring each student has tailored academic support.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of tutoring sessions and adjust as needed to ensure student progress aligns with educational goals.Collaboration & Communication
Establish and maintain communication with parents, teachers, and school staff to support academic achievement and provide regular updates on student progress and program changes.Serve as the liaison between school staff, students, and Brightlane Learning, ensuring that everyone is informed and aligned on educational goals.Volunteer & Tutor Support
Provide daily support to volunteer tutors, including assisting with homework or classwork, guiding supplemental activities, and ensuring a productive environment for tutoring.Promote Brightlane Learning events and initiatives to tutors, encouraging their participation and engagement with the organization's mission.Contribute to tutor retention by offering encouragement, sharing feedback with program staff, and promoting a positive tutoring environment.Administrative & Data Management
Enter student and tutor data weekly in designated systems with attention to accuracy and timeliness.Maintain site materials such as emergency plans, first aid kits, cleaning supplies, curriculum kits, and other necessary items to ensure a well-stocked, safe, and productive tutoring environment.Proactively flag and communicate site or tutoring issues and contribute to problem-solving efforts with team members.Organizational Engagement
Attend required meetings and special events, including Education Celebrations, tutor workshops, and staff meetings, to maintain alignment with Brightlane Learnings overall goals.Contribute to staff development by sharing knowledge and experiences during team meetings and training sessions.Collaborate with other Education Support Coordinators when necessary to ensure seamless program delivery across multiple sites.Actively contributes ideas, feedback, and support to peers during cross-site collaboration or team-based planning efforts.Physical Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required; post-secondary coursework in education, social work, or a related field preferredExperience working with youth (paid or volunteer) preferredComfortable working with diverse populations and individuals experiencing trauma or housing instabilityStrong group management and positive reinforcement skillsProficient in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets) and basic data entry
