Job Summary

The Pre-Analytical Assistant I is responsible for general support functions within the Technical Operations Department. This role supports specimen processing and handling, contributes to lab operations, and assists in maintaining quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform manual functions including sorting, racking, pickup / delivery of specimens, storage, centrifugation, and aliquoting

Identify and resolve specimen issues such as incorrect types or missing information

Ensure compliance with changing test order regulations

Maintain documentation in an accurate and timely manner

Support department operations during absences and adapt to changing staffing needs (weekends, holidays, overtime)

Progressively learn additional functions for career growth

Contribute to a team-based, customer-focused environment

Required Experience

High School Diploma or GED

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a production environment

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Demonstrates accuracy, confidence, and timeliness in task execution

Nice-to-Have Experience

Background in medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory

Previous experience in production or lab environments

Familiarity with mainframe computer systems
