Position Purpose of The Inventory Manage : The Inventory Manager oversees daily inventory operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with financial, operational, and food safety standards. This role manages the inventory control team, supports financial audit activities, and drives process improvements that enhance overall warehouse performance. All responsibilities and duties will further Gleaners’ mission to be a leader in the fight against hunger.

Essential Functions of The Inventory Control Manager :
Leadership & Oversight :
Lead, supervise, hire, train, motivate, coach, manage performance, and evaluate the Inventory Control team.Assign daily work, monitor performance, and ensure staff training and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability across all inventory operations.Daily Inventory Management
Manage and perform daily inventory functions, including tracking, reconciliation, and reporting.Generate and analyze reports on inventory levels, usage, and demand to support decision-making and planning.Maintain and optimize inventory tracking system for accurate and timely recordkeeping.Investigate and resolve discrepancies between system and physical counts; trace item history to identify and correct root causes.Conduct and oversee a formalized inventory cycle count program to ensure accuracy and integrity.Analyze data to identify slow-moving or waste items and recommend corrective or preventive actions.Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and productivity.Monitor departmental key performance indicators (KPIs) and work collaboratively to achieve accuracy and performance goals.Maintain effective cross-departmental communication to ensure alignment and support cohesive operations.Investigate and resolve customer discrepancies.Audit & Compliance
Maintain the warehouse in a clean, safe, and audit-ready condition at all times.Review and update annual audit procedures and documentation to meet financial and operational standards.Partner with the Director of Finance, Warehouse Manager / Director, and other departments to ensure timely coordination and resource readiness for year-end audit activities.Create and manage audit staff rosters, assign tasks, and oversee inventory procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.Ensure adherence to all applicable food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements (GFB, Feeding America, AIB, USDA, ISDH, OSHA).Work safely and accurately with minimal supervision and operate PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) equipment per Gleaners and OSHA guidelines.Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
Partner with finance and operations teams on projects to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reporting.Contribute to process and system improvements that enhance overall warehouse and inventory performance.Other duties as assigned.Education and / or Experience of T he Inventory Control Manager :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.2+ years of experience in inventory required; management experience desired.Knowledge and experience with inventory and RF hardware.Other Skills and Abilities of T he Inventory Control Manager :
